Following the presentation of the consultant’s recommendations during their August 25 meeting, the New Development Commission (NDC) will begin their review of proposed Downtown code updates. A portion of the NDC meeting will include a public hearing and an opportunity for the community to provide feedback on the proposed Downtown Development (D-D) District zoning code amendments.

Stop by the Open House at the Park Center (2400 Chestnut Avenue) on September 9 from 7-8:30pm to comment on the Downtown Development District Code updates.

Based on recommendations included in the Downtown Strategic Plan and community feedback from the August 12 Open House, the New Development Commission (NDC) will begin their review of proposed Downtown code updates. Following a second NDC public hearing meeting, it is anticipated the Village Board would consider a NDC recommendation on specific code amendments in October. This meeting will start at 7pm.

Participate in several activities to help the project team understand which architectural and urban design elements should be included in any new building to reflect the desired community characteristics along Glenview Road and Waukegan Road.
